This research proposes an innovative approach to understanding attention deficit, focusing on its underlying cognitive origins rather than solely on its effects. Although the effects presented — lack of focus, difficulties with planning and organization — are often similar among individuals, the cognitive foundations underlying them can be distinct. The research identifies three different cognitive presentations that can lead to attention deficit, highlighting the need for specific intervention strategies for each profile, since one of them does not require interventions directed at executive functions. This perspective reinforces the importance of considering the cognitive diversity behind attention difficulties, allowing for more targeted, effective, and personalized educational and therapeutic interventions.
